Cork Wellbeing Counselling & Holistic Living is an initiative pioneered by Patrick Sheehan and Martina Lehane Sheehan. We offer one to one Counselling, Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Spiritual Guidance. We also facilitate workshops, conferences and retreats etc. In our practice, we offer a three-dimensional approach to good mental health, we believe that mind, body and spirit need to be in balance in order for our lives to flourish.

Patrick is an Accredited Psychotherapist, Counsellor and Clinical Supervisor and has being working in the field of Mental Health for over 20 years. He has completed over ten years’ study and training in the fields of psychology, integrative psychotherapy, psychodynamic therapy, counselling, CBT, group facilitation and spiritual awareness. While studying for his master’s degree in UCC, Patrick became particularly interested in a new field of research focusing on the ‘Psychology of Happiness and the Science of Wellbeing’. This led him to further research, leading eventually to his unique Wellness Model, in which he integrates the wisdom of both traditional and modern psychology. Within his range of experience, he has worked in organisations and institutional settings dealing with adults suffering with challenging mental health issues. He has also over 15 years’ experience of facilitating workshops and retreats, incorporating integrative psychotherapy, neuroscience, cognitive behavioural therapy and mindfulness practices. He is particularly interested in helping people to view mental health issues, not from a place of victimhood, but as real opportunities for healing, growth and transformation. He believes that the key to good mental functioning is cultivating a life affirming attitude while building resilience, balance and creative resources to deal with life’s stresses and challenges. He sees people for one to one therapy, CBT and clinical supervision at 3 locations in Cork. Glanmire Medical Practice, Sidney Place Wellington Road and Ennismore Retreat Centre.

She was until 2019 Director of Retreats and Programmes in Ennismore Retreat Centre, Cork, Ireland, and is regularly invited to facilitate retreats and workshops both nationally and internationally.

She is the author of four bestselling titles ‘Seeing Anew: Awakening to life’s lessons’, ‘Whispers in the Stillness: Mindfulness and Spiritual Awakening.’ and ‘Waiting in Mindful Hope:’ Wisdom for Times of Transition. Her fourth book was published in Autumn 2017.Together with her husband, Patrick, she has created two CDs, ‘Soul Space; Meditations and Lyrics for stillness’ and ‘Beyond Mindfulness: Guided Meditations and lyrics for daily reflection’.
